• PASBO’s Professional Certification Program can help you increase your professional potential.

PASBO offers a voluntary program of professional certification and continuing education to provide a recognized standard of competence for school business officials who are active PASBO members.

General PASBO Certification Program

The general certification programs seeks to 1) raise the professional standards of those school administrators who have responsibilities for non-instructional services and programs; 2) improve school business management practices by encouraging school business officials to develop and to implement a continuing program of personal professional education; 3) identify those individuals in school business functions who have demonstrated competence and have fulfilled prescribed standards of performance and conduct, and 4) award special recognition to school business officials who meet the initial and renewal criteria for professional certification.

PASBO offers three certifications for school business officials:

  • PA Certified School Business Administrator (PCSBA)

  • PA Certified School Business Official (PCSBO)

  • PA Certified School Business Specialist (PCSBS)

Specialty PASBO Certification Program

In addition to the general program, PASBO has developed three specialty certifications that focus education and expertise in three areas of school business: facilities management, transportation, and payroll.
